The new Cash App card is a convenient way to pay, unifying your cash app account with your ability to pay and ensuring that you don’t have to transfer your cash around all the time. But what do you do when you want to add some money to your card?
How can you add money to your Cash App card in-store? In order to add money to your Cash Card, you’ll need to head over to the cash register and give them either cash or a debit card. Tell the cashier you want to add money on your Cash App card. They’ll ask how much you want, enter it on their terminal, and hand over your receipt.
While Walmart is the only retailer that currently allows you to do this, there are a few key details that I wasn’t able to include in that short, one-paragraph answer.
I’ll discuss the exact steps of loading up your Cash App card at your nearest Walmart and even take a look at some of the other ways you can add money to your Cash App Card.
How to Add Money to Cash App Card in Store
If you’re looking to add some money to your Cash App card, then there are a few different stores that you can get it done at. Most of the stores that allow you to add money to your Cash App directly are licensed to deal with financial services like Cash App. This is one of the main reasons why you can’t do it at any store.
The stores that I’ll be covering are some of the most common ones that you’ll find around the country, but keep in mind that this isn’t an exhaustive list. There are some stores that may only be present in certain regions but will still allow you to fill up your Cash App card at them.
Here are the most common stores that will allow you to fill up your Cash App card:
How to Add Money to Cash App Card at Walmart
Walmarts are available all around the country, and they’ll probably be one of the most convenient locations for you to refill your Cash App card. The best thing about Walmart is that you’ll rarely come across one that’s small enough not to refill your Cash App card for you.
This way, you can be sure that you’ll be able to refill your Cash App card every time you visit Walmart. This gives Walmart an advantage over CVS and Dollar General, as you won’t have to worry about whether or not the store you’re visiting even supports Cash App card loading in the first place.
To load up your Cash App card at Walmart, you just have to walk into the store with the amount of cash that you wish to add to your card. Head over to the cashier and let them know that you would like to refill your Cash App card.
Keep in mind that you may have to pay a fee to refill your card.
How to Add Money to Cash App Card at CVS
Pharmacies tend to be some of the more common places where you can refill your Cash App card, with stores like Walgreens and Rite-Aid allowing you to do so. Yet another common pharmacy, CVS, allows you to refill your Cash App card in-store, much like Walmart.
There aren’t many functional differences between refilling your Cash App card at CVS or at Walmart, though one or the other may be more convenient for you. For example, if you need to frequently visit CVS to get one of your prescriptions fulfilled, you’ll also be able to manage the balance on your Cash App card.
Just like Walmart, head to your local CVS with the amount of money that you intend to add to your Cash App card. Go to the cashier and provide them with both the cash and the Cash App card and allow them to load up the card. Like with Walmart, there may be fees that apply.
How to Add Money to Cash App Card at Dollar General
Dollar General’s parent company owns several payment transfer services, making this store one of the most qualified to handle your financial transactions. This includes adding money to your cash app card at Dollar General, though you’ll find that the process doesn’t differ significantly from CVS or Walmart.
Some of the main differences between transferring your money at Dollar General and other stores include some slight policy differences. You can get an idea of these differences by talking to the store clerk when you head into Dollar General to add money to your Cash App card.
As with the other two stores, bring the amount of cash that you’d like to add to your Cash App card to Dollar General, along with the card itself. Head to the cashier and let them know what you would like to do. They will guide you through the process. Dollar General charges a similar fee to Walmart.
Why Should You Add Money to Your Cash App Card In-Store?
One of the main advantages of using a store to add money to your Cash App card is that you can do so without having a valid bank account linked to your Cash App. Before Cash App allowed you to add money to your card in-store, there were very few ways to add money to your account without a bank account.
Another advantage is that you can instantly convert your cash to money in your Cash App, which will make it easier to exchange or purchase something using your card. Without in-store Cash App card deposits, you would have to deposit the money in your bank and then transfer it through there, which would likely take far longer.
Expediency is the name of the game when it comes to adding money to your Cash App card through local stores like Walmart, CVS, and Dollar General.
